It's
something that doesn't usually cross our minds, but some common
plants around our gardens are in fact toxic to our furry friends.
Begonia
This popular garden and container plant is toxic to both dogs and cats. The tubers are the most toxic part. Insoluble oxalate is the toxic principle in this popular plant. The clinical signs are oral
irritation, intense burning and irritation of the mouth, tongue and lips,
excessive drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing.
You should consult your vet immediately if you have any concerns.
